July 17

Today we drove to Rotorua.  The highlight of the drive was the detour to Hamilton to see the LDS Temple.  It was beautiful inside and the Macs ended up spending the time in the visitors center.

Rotorua has its own distinct smell. The earths crust is thin here and so there is lots of thermal energy happening.  Bubbling mud and really hot water provide a fantastic sulfer smell.

Roger's plan of the trip:  find me a sheep farmer to marry

Experience of the day: eating a bacon sandwich
