The First Day

This will be pretty short & sweet because I'm exhausted.  I had a fabulous Air New Zealand flight.  I even got five hours of sleep.  When I made it through passport control and customs (after bring questioned about track shoes in my bag), I had this awaiting me:

What a fantastic surprise and awesome sign.  Of course this is what they saw:

I look like I'd been on a plane for 24 hours, not 13 :).  After the girls went to school, I had a shower and a longer nap than planned, Roger, Andrea, and I went to lunch but not before seeing this:

Behind me is Orewa Beach.  I think just right of my head is about the area that the Mac's live in.  This afternoon I went along to pick up the girls from school, then went to see each of them play a sport - netball    for Keanna and basketball for Mackenzie.

Funniest thing of the day:  trying to keep myself from telling them they were driving on the wrong side of the street.

Strangest? Thing of the day: sitting in the car in the front seat on the side where I'd normally be sitting to drive.

Craziest thing: seeing so many kids at school in bare feet.  Andrea said its common for kids to take off their shoes at school and not wear them all day.

This is going to be a great five weeks!
